U.S. Will Loan Millions of AstraZeneca Doses to Mexico, Canada


THE U.S. AIMS TO SEND 4 million doses of AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 vaccine to Canada and Mexico, White House press secretary Jen Psaki confirmed on Thursday.

It would mark the first time the U.S. has exported coronavirus vaccines directly to countries. Both Canada and Mexico have approved the AstraZeneca vaccine, while the U.S. has not.

Psaki confirmed that the Biden administration plans to send 2.5 million doses to Mexico and 1.5 million to Canada as a “loan.”
