“People know my views on the Iran deal. It was a terrible teal. It should have never been made.”
He was speaking alongside President Emmanuel Macron, who hopes to convince Trump to remain in the deal. But Trump offered few assurances he would be deterred from withdrawing.
“It’s insane, it’s ridiculous, it should haven ever been made. But we’ll be talking about it,” Trump said.
Macron insisted the Iran deal is “important” and stressed viewing it as part of a regional strategy.
“We have to take it as a part of the broader picture with security in the region,” he said.
But Trump insisted Iran was embolded.
“Wherever you go, Iran is behind it,” he said, adding “Russia is getting more and more involved.”
